I've got a Dinosaur in my Back Yard
©Kath Bee 2008
CHORUS
I’ve got a dinosaur in my back yard
I’ve got a dinosaur in my back yard
I’ve blinked and blinked cos I thought they were extinct
But he’s there as plain as day
He’s got an large bony frill round his neck
He’s got horns times three
He doesn’t eat meat leaves and twigs are a treat
What’s his name? Triceratops
CHORUS
He’s got a long stretchy neck
So he can reach right up high
He’s not a meat eater juicy plants are much sweeter
What’s his name? Diplodocus
BRIDGE
It isn’t my imagination
I’m not making it up
Look and you will see
That he’s looking straight at me
Through my bedroom window….
CHORUS
He’s the length of two buses
Eight children can fit on his tail
He’s as heavy as lead
Eats from morning ‘til bed
What’s his name? Apatosaurus
BRIDGE
CHORUS
He’s got 60 sharp teeth if you please!
Gobbles other dinosaurs up with ease
The scariest beast! Last but not least
What’s his name? Tyrannosaurus Rex!
BRIDGE
CHORUS to fade…………………..

Nerves
©Kath Bee 2008
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves,
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves
Woke up this morning, then I got that warning
It’s those butterflies, in my tum
First day in a new class, that test I have to pass
There are butterflies, in my tum
I could tell mum that I’m sick
My head is aching, my heart rate’s quick
I could say I’ve got the ‘flu
My skin in sore and my tongue is blue
But I guess I’ll just have to
Get up and face those
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves etc
Woke up this morning, then I got that warning
It’s those butterflies, in my tum
Gotta say my speech today and I don’t think I’ll be OK
Cos I’ve got butterflies, in my tum
I could tell Dad I’m in pain
My legs won’t work, there’s a ‘thing’ in my brain
I could make up some disease
Where my skin turns green and I start to sneeze (ahh-choo!)
Won’t someone help me PLEEEEASE!
Get up and face those
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves etc
BRIDGE
Do I just have to endure them? Is there any way to cure them?
One answer to it is to just get on and do it!
What’s the worse thing that could happen?????? When you face those
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves etc
Woke up this morning, then I got that warning
It’s those butterflies, in my tum
Said something I regret, my teacher said she “won’t forget”
I’ve got butterflies, in my tum
I could say I’m quite unwell
My fingers and toes are starting to swell
There’s a virus taking hold
First I’m hot, then I’m cold!
Unfortunately the cure, I’m told
Is to get up and face those
Nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves, nerves…..faster and faster………

Jump Up
©Kath Bee 2008
Jump up and turn around and touch your nose
Jump up and turn around and tickle your toes
Jump up and turn around and count to three
Say “I can be anything I want to be”
Jump up and turn around and wiggle your bum
Jump up and turn around and raise your thumb
Jump up and turn around and count to four
Bend right over and touch the floor
Jump up and turn around meet someone new
Jump up and turn around do anything you want to do
Jump up and turn around and count to five
Hands on the steering wheel, pretend to drive
Jump up and turn around and kiss your knee
Jump up and turn around pretend you’re a tree
Jump up and turn around and count to 10
Sit on the floor ready to start again!

Changing Clouds
©Kath Bee 2008
Changing clouds
Watch them disappear
And the in blink of an eye
Watch them reappear
Pictures I can see
But you don’t see the same as me
When we look at the clouds
CHORUS
Lying on our backs, nothing could be better
Talk and laugh while gazing up into the blue and white together
Changing clouds
Float across the sky
Encouraged by the wind
They pass by
Changing clouds
Grow before your eyes
It’s always a surprise
When we look at the clouds
CHORUS
Changing clouds
What starts as a face
Turns into cars or horses in a race
Changing clouds
A very peaceful way
For you and I
To spend some time today

The Silly Song

A SILLY SONG
©Kath Bee 2008
I met a boy, and he wore pink pyjamas
He ate ripe bananas, he owned two big llamas
He liked riding on his llamas eating ripe bananas wearing pink pyjamas
That silly boy (that silly boy)
I met a girl, who on her feel wore flippers
On her hands wore slippers, didn’t like nail clippers
So she wore the flippers and the slippers to avoid her nails being cut with clippers
That silly girl (that silly girl)
CHORUS
This is just a silly song, it might be right it might be wrong
It doesn’t matter, just for fun. Why don’t you try writing one?
A silly, silly song.
I knew a dog, he wore a tartan raincoat
Sailed a pale blue sailboat, with a friendly male goat
He would sail the sailboat with the male goat never taking off his tartan raincoat
That silly dog (that silly dog)
CHORUS
I met a man and he and rubbish on his head
Wore black gumboots to bed, and had a friend named Fred
He’d spend the day with Fred then wear his black gumboots to bed and still have rubbish
Upon his head (upon his head?)
CHORUS
I know a lady, her clothes are made of lollipops
She never walks she hops, and she loves spinning tops
She spins her tops and hops and hops while children try to steal and eat her clothes
Of lollipops (of lollipops?)
CHORUS

It’s Never the Wrong Time to go out ©Kath Bee 2008
It’s never the wrong time to go out
Even when there are rain clouds about
Put on a coat, gumboots and a hat
Feel the rain on your face as the drips go “splat”
Jump in a puddle and splash all your friends
Poke out your tongue and catch a drop on the end, cos
It’s never the wrong time to go out
Even when the wind blows about
Walk in one direction and get pushed along
Can’t walk in the other ‘cos the gusts are so strong
Hair in all directions, trees bend and sway
Have to yell instead of talk ‘cos no one can hear what you say, cos
It’s never the wrong time to go out
CHORUS
Whether the weather is hot
Or whether the weather is cold
Or whether the weather is in between
Or not what the forecast foretold
It can’t be controlled……………..so………….
It’s never the wrong time to go out
Even if your mind’s full of doubt
The sun’s shining brightly; don’t want to burn your skin
So have a look around and find some shade to sit in
Head to the river or the sea to get cool
And if you live near neither, what about a swimming pool, cos
It’s never the wrong time to go out
CHORUS
It’s never the wrong time to go out x3

BRAND NEW SHOES
©Kath Bee 2009
Walking around in my brand new shoes
Isn’t it great that they come in twos?
I’m walking around in my brand new shoes
Walk, walk, walk, walk, brand new shoes
Skipping around in my brand new shoes
Look at them shiny, so clean, never used
I’m skipping around in my brand new shoes
Skip, skip, skip, skip, brand new shoes
CHORUS
New shoes, whose shoes?
My shoes, two shoes
Red, yellow, orange, green
Or any colour in between
New shoes, I choose
New shoes, I choose
Hopping around in my brand new shoes
I want to tell everybody the news
I’m hopping around in my brand new shoes
Hop, hop, hop, hop, brand new shoes
Dancing around in my brand new shoes
Makes me so happy, I won’t get the blues
I’m dancing around in my brand new shoes
Dance, dance, dance, dance brand new shoes
CHORUS
Running around in my brand new shoes
Doesn’t matter if I win or lose
I’m running around in my brand new shoes
Run, run, run, run brand new shoes
CHORUS

Seasons
©Kath Bee 2002
CHORUS
Seasons come, seasons go
Some bring sun, some bring snow
Where they come from, well,
I don’t know, but
Seasons come and seasons go
Winter winds will chill your bones
But warm, bright fires fill your homes
Autumn trees all stark and bare
But the crisp dry leaves spread colour everywhere
CHORUS
Spring sees new life all around
It’s like a song without a sound
Summer steals your heart away
Blue, clear skies, cool water, timeless days

Save the Planet
02:40
|

Save the Planet
Well, there’s a hole in the ozone layer (save the planet, help save the planet)
And there is global warming too (save the planet, help save the planet)
Simple things that you can do, like unplug the tele and the DVD too
And turn of the lights and the heater when you’re not in the room
(save the planet, help save the planet) x2
Well there is rubbish everywhere (save the planet, help save the planet)
Bigger piles every year (save the planet, help save the planet)
Kerbside recycling is the way to go, and give your old clothes to someone you know
And put your scraps in the compost to help your garden grow
(save the planet, help save the planet) x2
BRIDGE
We’ve got to RE-THINK – make a plan
We’ve got to RE-USE – the things we can
We’ve got to RE-CYCLE – new from old
We’ve got to RE –DUCE and lighten the load
(on our planet, help save the planet)
(save our planet, help save the planet)
Well, there’s pollution in the air (save the planet, help save the planet)
Endangered species everywhere (save the planet, help save the planet)
Share a car, go on, don’t wait and walk, bike, scoot, bus, run or skate
And help save an animal or plant you like from a terrible fate
It’s never to late
(to save the planet, help save the planet) x6
BRIDGE
It’s never too late!!

When it’s just me
I like to read (I like to read) I like to read my favourite book

I like to read and act and as a matter of fact
I can do it by myself
BRIDGE
Call it selfishness Call it solitude
(call it selfishness) (call it solitude)
Call me a loner or call me rude
But I can be………where I like…..etc
I like to dance (I like to dance) with the music loud
And I pretend (I pretend) that there’s a great big crowd
I like to dance and pretend and in the end
I can do it by myself
BRIDGE

LULLABY (FOR SIAN)
©Kath Bee 2007
Close your eyes now you’re warm in your bed
Close your eyes and remember the things we shared
Close your eyes and you’ll soon be far away
Go to sleep, my love, go to sleep
Sweet dreams taking over your mind
Sweet dreams of whatever your heart desires
Sweet dreams will see you through the night
Go to sleep, my love, go to sleep
Softly shines the pale silvery moon
Through your window and into your room
Softly shines the moon and stars up above
Go to sleep, my love, go to sleep
